Utrecht woman fears HIV infection after attack with hypodermic needle
A disabled woman from Utrecht fears that she's been infected with HIV or hepatitis after she was attacked with a hypodermic needle in Utrecht two weeks ago, she said on Bureau Hengeveld.
The attack happened on the doorstep of a physiotherapy practice in Utrecht two weeks ago. The woman came out after treatment when an unknown man approached her. He was annoyed that she was in the way of him getting to his backpack. When the woman tried to hand him the backpack, he stabbed her in the hand with the needle.
"Only now do I realize what the consequences of such an action are. Uncertainty about whether I am infected with HIV and hepatitis. In six months I'll know for sure. It's stressful", teh 51 year old woman said.
The suspect is still at large. The victim describes him as a white, slender man of about 30 years old He has reddish hair that is long and curly and lots of freckles on his face. He also has a noticeable scar on the right side of his upper lip.
