Uber launching "train" service during Schiphol track repairs
Taxi service Uber is seizing an opportunity in repair work scheduled for the railway at Schiphol airport early in August. While few to no trains will be traveling to the airport during these repairs, Uber is launching a special service specifically for traveling to and from the airport, the Telegraaf reports.
A seat in an UberTREIN taxi will cost customers the same as what a train ticket would have cost. "If you assume 4 chairs at a rate of 4.20 euros, a ride to the airport amounts to 16.80 euros", according to the service.
Trains will be traveling between Amsterdam Central Station, Amsterdam Sloterdijk and Schiphol during the repears. Those who want a taxi to the airport, can get a 5 euro discount.
