Woman pulled off Justice Sec.'s car presses abuse case against cop
Oranje resident Hilda van der Heide has filed charges against the police officer who pulled her away from Justice State Secretary Klaas Dijkhoff's car during a protest against asylum seekers in the Drenthe village in October.
Van der Heide said this on television program Pauw on Thursday, Het Parool reports.
The woman was one of the Oranje residents protesting against the arrival of more asylum seekers in the village when Dijkhoff visited early in October. She stood in the way of Dijkhoff's car during the protest. A plainclothes police officer pulled her out of the way and she fell, hurting her arm.
Van der Heide told the program that she has not heard anything from the State Secretary yet. "I had expected a card from Mr. Dijkhoff. I'm still waiting."
The decision to increase the number of asylum seekers in Oranje from 700 to 1,400 was reversed.
