Wooden “Ghost Ship” recovered, set for auction
On Monday Rijkswaterstaat recovered the "Ghost Ship" De Trintel, which has been lying on the IJsselmeer, next to the Noordemeer dike by Rutten since May. The ship was transported to a Rijkswaterstaat terrain in Lelystad on Tuesday from where it will be auctioned.
According to the Rijkswaterstaat, the ship is in a poor condition as it has been lying in shallow water for some time.
The water manager knows who the owner of the ship is. But as there is no current telephone number or address for him, he can not be reached.
Should the owner be found, he will be billed for the recovery and storage of the ship.
