Hit-and-run kills baby, injures father

A baby was killed and its father injured when a car struck them in Lutten, Overijssel Thursday night. The driver of the car did not stop after the accident, which happened sometime before 8 p.m. The father was pushing the baby in a stroller when the car hit the two on Dedemsvaartseweg-Noord, according to RTV Oost. The baby was ejected from the stroller and died at the scene. The father was taken to the hospital in an unknown condition. A notice for the car, a light grey Mercedes-Benz with xenon lights, went out on citizen alert organization Burgernet. By 8:22 p.m. the car was found, Burgernet said on Twitter. Police would not say if the driver was arrested.
