Outrage over woman boasting of MH17 site make-up
Ekaterina Parkhomenko, a woman from Torez, close to where flight MH17 crashed, has caused outrage after allegedly bragging online about using looted mascara from the crash site.
Parkhomenko was shown on her Instagram account with two selfies, allegedly after she had applied the mascara from a blue Catrice bottle. The caption read: 'Mascara from Amsterdam, or to be precise from the field. Well, you understand.' When her own followers asked her if she was joking, she answered 'An acquaintance of mine, a looter, gave it to me.' The woman - her age is not known - describes herself as a 'separatist' who 'feels sick and hates everything Ukrainian'. After disgust and outrage mounted, she suddenly removed the picture and closed down her social media accounts. The outrage came from both Ukrainians and Russians.
