Missing Vught inmate found
An inmate of the prison in Vught who was thought to have escaped this morning, has been found.
Police dogs found the man within the walls of the penitentiary around 10.50, almost 2.5 hours after he was reported missing from his cell. It is not clear if he had really tried to escape.
The report of his disappearance was made around 8.30am. The man was not in his cell at morning roll call, but what had happened to him wasn’t immediately clear.
His disappearance prompted a thorough search of prison premises by prison authorities with the help of police officers with dogs, fire fighters and a helicopter. The man is reportedly a longtime resident of the prison; first reports this morning characterized him as a “sick person”.
