One in ten people depressive
One in ten people in the Netherlands suffered from depression in 2012, according to figures the Central Bureau of Statistics released on Thursday.
The statistics show that depression was rampant among Turkish women and Moroccan men; at least a quarter of the Turkish women indicated that they felt depressed regularly, as opposed to 11 percent of native women. Some 21 percent of Moroccan men felt depressed, as opposed to seven percent of the natives. The year 2012 saw a four percent increase over 2011, when six percent of the Dutch community reported being depressed.
