The solar system will produce 360,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh), which is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of around 140 households. It also translates into a carbon dioxide (CO2) reduction of around 150 tonnes a year. The solar system will cost €500,000. The project is financed by the Triodos Bank, the RAI’s house banks Deutsche Bank and Rabobank Amsterdam, and a loan from the Amsterdam Investment Fund, a city council initiative that supports investments in sustainable energy projects. The solar project is expected to complete in early 2014.
