NATO to extend Patriot mission
NATO has agreed to the extension of the Patriot mission in Turkey. Netherlands contributes to the mission, of which Turkey is now asking for an extension.
Netherlands is expected to agree with the extension. The government will announce its decision on the subject Friday at the earliest.
The air defense artillery has to stay because neighboring Syria is still too restless.

Wikimedia commons The U.S., Germany and the Netherlands, the only NATO countries with Patriots, have been in Turkey since early this year. Some 250 Dutch were deployed to southeastern Turkey. The Patriots have so far not had to come into action.
