Dutch, Ghana Artists Build Concept Car From Scrap
The Smati Turtle 1 is a concept car created by artists from the Netherlands and Ghana from scrap parts.
Dutch artists Melle Smets and Joost van Onna worked with the artisanal car-makers of Suame Magazine, Ghana, to create this dream car. It was built according to the motto “Let’s make things simple.”

The concept car, which took three months to create, built from locally crafted, refurbished and used parts from different brands of discarded cars.
It goes on display starting today at the Impakt Festival in the Dutch city of Utrecht.
